Has worked in Mauritius and internationally (France, India, Madagascar, Mayotte, Seychelles, Swaziland, Tunisia) on projects such as Airports, Hotels, Commercial and Leisure. Keen interest in urban planning and heritage presentation.

Karan Grover has been passionately advocating the need to look at ones culture and heritage for clues as to the direction for a contemporary architecture and sustainable development relevant to the Indian context today. He has enthused children in conservation and been nominated a “social entrepreneur” as a Fellow of the Ashoka Foundation, Washington. Winner of all the Indian Awards for Excellence in Architecture and Interior Design; he almost single handedly won India’s nominations for UNESCO’s World Heritage Site status for Champaner after a 22 year old campaign.

Born in Ghana, West Africa, trained at the Architectural Association between 1984 and 1986 (A.A.) in London, Joe Addo has worked for firms in Finland, the United Kingdom and the United States, setting up his practice in Los Angeles in 1991. His early influences were with Peter and Alison Smithson through their protege Peter Salter at the A.A. the work and interest of the practice has been influenced by various investigations of 'genus-loci', and how architecture can/should respond to this in creating pieces which are both site specific and meet the needs of people who will inhabit or interact with it.

Sustainable, Humane and Inclusive Built Environment in Africa

Nnamdi Elleh is Associate Professor of architecture history and theory at the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), University of Cincinnati.  He was trained as an architect at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and he received his Ph.D. in art history from Northwestern University. He is the recipient of many awards, including Samuel Kress and Graham Architectural Foundation grants.
